Pollen-free Lilies not to be sniffed at!

Pollen-free Lilies are here. They have actually been around for quite some time, almost 15 years, but it appears that US domestic growers and the Lily industry as a whole are finally committing to the idea of pollen-free Lilies.
Might this be the end to unsightly orange-red stains on clothing, upholstery, and tablecloths? We sure hope so. Additionally, did you know that pollen is known to be harmful to cats? Even the water from the vase may result in acute kidney failure in cats!

Martin Meskers, the owner of Oregon Flowers, is one of the leading Lily growers in the USA. He recently traveled to Holland for the “Dutch Lily Days”, where 13 major Lily breeders and traders open their doors to visitors. Oregon Flowers currently produces a variety called Vendome, a pink pollen-free Lily, displayed above. The pollen still shows but it will not smear or stain. Ask for it by name at your wholesale florist of choice!
